The refreshing sea breeze, the colourful atmosphere on board and the glorious time to rejuvenate your spirits are enchanting enough to pack your bags for a short weekend trip.

And why only bags, what about vehicles? Yes, though this may sound a little bit unbelievable, there are many ferries that have facilities to carry your personal vehicles, a hatchback or an SUV, to the other side of the sea.

The expenses are considerable and do vary. In case you are registering space for carrying along a small 4-seater car, the costs are lesser when compared to booking space for a light-weight truck.

Nevertheless, you always can exercise the exciting amenity of taking your vehicle on board, and driving open heartedly through the magnificent French coastline.

It is always a wise thing to book your car space in advance, in order to avoid any unnecessary hassles moments prior to start of your journey. The tickets can be easily booked on the internet with the help of a credit card.

You must remember a few more things on board of France ferries when you take your car along. Always carry the relevant documents with you that are related to your car or truck. The ownership papers, the insurance documents and most importantly, your license; all these are very essential if you want to enjoy a good drive on wheels after your brief sea voyage.

Visit Burj Dubai In 2010 it opens finally

Why do you travel and visit different places and Countries? Ferries to France give you a great travelling option when it comes to crossing the channel, and there are a number of reasons that this mode of transport finds so many takers. For starters, you can even take your car with you.

Besides, travelling onboard a ferry does not bind you the way that travelling in an aeroplane would. You do not have to stay put in your seat, and even if you do not book a suite or a cabin, you still have the freedom to walk on the deck of the ferry as and when you please. Try doing that in the aisle of an aeroplane. Also, you can carry pretty much as much luggage as you want to, with the basic guide being that as long as it can fit in your car, you can take it.

Travelling onboard a ferry to France also gives you options galore when it comes to onboard activities. Cross channel ferries that ply in between these countries are known to provide services such as round the clock restaurants, bars, and even casinos. Most well equipped ferries also have dedicated play areas for the young ones, and that makes them the perfect family getaway vehicle.

So the next time you intend to take your family on a holiday; do make sure that you give enough thought to this great option.

airbed and breakfast doing just fine!

I recently came across one of the best bed and breakfast sites called airbed and breakfast, it's started just a few years back, it's research work and marketing campaigns were so good that the site has become number one in providing airbed and breakfast.

What works for the site is the easiness and user friendliness features, I was quite new to it but when I entered into the site, it appeared as If I am a pro at handling things there.

Site has users from as many as over 90 countries and have listed their rooms in the site, sites gives the owner who wants to list his or her room on the site to build the social profile on AB&B, which is really fantastic.

If you are looking for cheap rooms anywhere around the world i would recommend visit http://www.airbnb.com, I am sure you will easily get a stylish stay at less! But it needs to be judiciously planned in order to stay away from difficulties that may mar all the fun.

Five Most Essential Items That a Backpacker Must Carry

1.Compass:A compass is the only device that can help one find his way through unknown routes. It becomes particularly helpful in poor weather conditions when the landmarks become invisible. GPS devices are also worth having.

2.Map:A map tells a hiker where he is and how far he needs to go. Moreover, it helps one in finding water, campsites and often an emergency exit way in the event of an accident.

3.Food in excess:While you are on a backpacking trip, a number of incidents can detain you. A difficult terrain, hours lost in finding the way, a lengthened detour or an injury can all contribute to an unplanned delay. In these situations, excess food kept in the reserve is absolutely necessary to keep the physical energy and the mental motivation up.

4.Water and means of purifying it:The organs and muscles of our body cannot perform properly in absence of adequate water. Absence of water also makes one susceptible to altitude sickness and hypothermia. And, enduring acute thirst for hours is too big a pain in itself. But, having adequate water is not enough on a backpacking trip. The backpacker should have means, of purifying the water, at his disposal. Drinking impure and contaminated water often threatens the lives of backpackers with fatal diseases.

5.First-Aid Kit:First-aid kits for backpackers are pre-packaged and are readily available at different outlets. A first-aid kit is immensely helpful in case of any kind of accident and injury. But nobody ever thinks of the risk in traveling like having a holiday accident or a mishap. It is better to be prepared so that one can enjoy the traveling experience without any fear. Before planning a trip it is better to be prepared by getting travel insurance so that your family is safe while you are on board. Generally travel insurance helps to cover the expenses and losses which happen while you are traveling. This can be both inside one’s own country and outside the country too. There are temporary travel insurances too which can be got at the last minute before booking the trip so that it covers exactly the expenses during the trip.

Whether you are planning to go for a business trip outside your country or you are planning to go abroad for studies, travel insurance is a must. Without a travel insurance one cannot meet the expenses occurred during the travel time. When going on a holiday or a business trip, travelling without insurance is not healthy as the medical bills will be costlier when compared to one’s own place and there is no point in taking risk. What if something goes wrong? It is always better to protect yourself from the unwanted situations by getting the best travel insurance so that you can travel at peace. There will be no need to rely on strangers at the unknown place. By getting a travel insurance you may protect yourself from the financial and medical expenses and can have a soothing travelling experience. The safer you’re the more you will enjoy the travel.

Missing those days

Hi guys, I am really missing those days when I use to have plenty of time to do one or two posts a day, things have really changed now. During this year, Bavaria’s international aviation hub was used by, more than 34.5 million passengers. This was a 2% increase over 2007.

Munich Airport recorded the second-highest growth rate. Rome was the only airport ahead of them. Munich also got the seventh place among the top ten airports of Europe. Munich improved its position in the international rankings, for three years in a row, as it advanced from the 28th to the 27th place. This is a commendable achievement by the Munich Airport as it had only the 51st rank among all the airports of the world when it was inaugurated in 1992.

2008 saw only few important European hubs increase their volume of passengers. Munich Airport was one of them. Despite the severe recession that the world faced during the latter half of the last year, Munich airport performed impressively and did better than most European and German airports.

The improved traffic volume also had its effect on the business results of the airport. The after-tax earnings of FMG, the Munich Airport operating company, for 2008, show an increase of three million euros in comparison to the previous year. The overall revenues of FMG rocketed up to a record volume of 826 million euros.
The Munich Airport offered scheduled services to 244 destinations in 71 countries in 2008. The most successful month in the history of Munich Airport was September 2008 when it had a total of 3,253,823 passengers.

Five new Hilton Hotels in China

Hilton Hotels Corporation has entered into a business relationship with Dalian Wanda Group, a China-based real estate developer. Dreamtime 2009 will be organized by Tourism Australia and is going to be a weeklong event. It promises to draw almost hundred buyers or business events decision makers and around twenty international media from the principal markets of Australia, namely Europe, Asia, USA, New Zealand and Japan.

The weeklong Dreamtime 2009 event will provide the media and the global buyers with an opportunity to spend five days in Sydney, the host city, and two days at any place among Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Sunshine Coast, and the Northern Territory for educational tours.

The decision makers will get a golden opportunity to learn about the tourism business potentials of Australia and at the same time know how it feels to be at Australia.

Dreamtime was first staged in 1992 and was last held on the Gold Coast back in 2006. The 2009 event is going to be a re-styled version as it intends to highlight the changing ideas in the business events sector.

The business events sector anticipates rough weathers in 2009. But programs like Dreamtime constitute the future-oriented commitment of Australia that aims to strengthen the country’s platform in the international business events market.

Dreamtime 2009 is scheduled for October 2009, though the exact dates are not yet finalized. But, October will be a great time for business travelers to travel to Australia as they might get a glimpse of this important business event.

Traveling to Greece

Travel enthusiasts dream of traveling to the Greek Islands that have been attracting tourists since ages. The tradition, culture and cuisine of each island are special in their own ways and the islands never fail to fascinate a traveler.

Traveling to Greece indeed is a “dream-come-true” in every sense of the phrase.

Travel Paradises

The world has some exotic travel destinations that can be termed as the “travel paradises” of the world.

Travel paradises that attract tourists from every corner of the world:

Bali:

Bali is an island that completely does justice to its other two names, “The Pearl of the World” and “The Islands of the Gods”. Trips to these destinations are not always very expensive.

Some exotic and unusual trips:

1. A weeklong course on elephant driving at Thailand is a great experience to be cherished for a lifetime. The traveler gets to learn the signs, sounds and commands that the elephants can follow.

2. A journey to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean in a submarine is worth the trip. Although a bit expensive, a dive to a depth of almost four thousand meters is always going to be a marvelous experience. A lucky traveler can even catch a glimpse of the remnants of the legendary Titanic.

3. A visit to the Berlin Zoo in the night is considered to be a very special experience. A visitor, on paying a fee, can spend a night in a place adjacent to the hippopotamus enclosure. This fee generally includes hippo watching and a sumptuous dinner.

4. A nightlong stay at a 120-meter room on the Alysia Yacht presents a traveler with a grand deck, a large television set and an elaborate bath. The picturesque view out of the window is unparalleled. The kind of impeccable services that are provided on this yacht can be guessed from the fact that thirty-four members of the crew serve thirty-six passengers on the yacht.

5. A traveler wanting to test his durability can opt for a trip to the coldest place on earth, namely Oymyakon, where the mercury drops to minus 68 degree Celsius. This fortnight-long trip can be an unforgettable experience for a travel enthusiast.

France – a favorite travel destination among golfers

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_VqlKVI8J80Y/SYhRit4s4fI/AAAAAAAAABM/0IFQHygQNc8/s320/9907_07_12---Menton--Cote-d-Azur--France_web.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298574618476208626" />
France has a wide range of golf courses that are peaceful and serene. Besides, the dawn of these cards has also played a substantial role in the betterment of ‘services of convenience’ apart from the standard transaction based incentives.

The main reason for the rise in popularity of these cards is that they function exactly like your normal credit cards and are based on the same concept. However, for the wide range of services that they offer, they do usually charge a slightly higher interest rate.

Main advantages:

These cards can be used for your day to day activities such as eating out, shopping, travel, etc. Besides the free accumulating ‘air miles’ that come along with the card, you also have the facility to redeem your normally earned points through the purchases you make through the card.

In order to maximize your benefits, you must ideally spend some time in thoroughly understanding your ‘airline’ credit card’s reward system. Usually, every dollar that you charge to the card gets a point and an ‘air mile’. Some cards let you trade your points/miles for cash.

Getting an ‘airline’ credit card is fairly simple. You can apply for an ‘airline’ credit card through the internet and can expect to get your card within hours of your application. Many of the ‘airline’ credit card providers also let their customers choose from a range of credit limits and credit plans to suit individual requirements.

An important thing you should find out while applying for the card is if the card provider has set any kind of a limit on the points/miles that you can accumulate or if they come along with an expiry period.

Despite the slightly higher interest rate involved with these cards, you can end up saving considerable amounts of money in your travel expenses through the usage of your ‘airline’ credit card. And if you use your card judiciously, your card could very well result in some overall savings.

Minimizing the Effects of Jet Lag

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 205px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_VqlKVI8J80Y/SYhSJvu6_kI/AAAAAAAAABU/y-tZx97gBZw/s320/22.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298575288986959426" />
If you’ve ever had to take a long distance flight, there are good chances that you have experienced some degree of jet lag. Jet lag is a condition that affects a person physiologically wherein the quick travel between time zones adversely affects the body’s biological clock.

Therefore, while it might actually be afternoon in your current location, your body would still be used to the time in its previous location (where it could be night), and this would explain your feeling drowsy. However, in cases of severe exhaustion, it an also lead to a person experiencing headaches, feeling groggy, as well as becoming dehydrated.

While there is a plethora of options when it comes to treating jet lag, here’s a list of a few tried and tested methods.

One of the best things you can do is get adequate rest/sleep before embarking upon your flight. You should also ideally get your body used to a specific pattern when it comes to sleeping. Going to sleep and getting up at the same time everyday would help your body’s clock perform better. You can then slowly start making adjustments in you sleep pattern in accordance to the time zone you would be in next.

Your eating habits can also play a role in your experiencing jet lag. If you have a well balanced diet, there are good chances that your body will have the necessary resources in fighting fatigue build up. Also, if your overall fitness levels are good, going through jet lag does become considerably easier.

Exercise is also recommended prior to taking a long flight. While regularly exercising before flying long distances might not take away the effects of jet lag completely, the effects would definitely be less intense.

If your long flight involves you going on a vacation, it would be best if you can manage to distress before making the trip. Make sure you have all your documentation in place well in time. Lower levels of stress will leave you feeling more invigorated; and you surely wouldn’t want to spend the first few days of your vacation in combating jet lag.

Best Periods to Go on Cruises

If vacations in amusement parks or nature reserves is not your cup of tea (or coffee), and if you are bored of visiting places that are part of ‘regular’ travel itineraries, you should very well consider going on a cruise.

While there is plenty to do whilst on a cruise, it is important that you choose a good time to go on a cruise. Therefore, ensure that you put in adequate research before picking a cruise you wish to be part of.

Bed and Breakfasts (B&B): Choose Well

The widespread use of the World Wide Web has had a rather positive impact on the businesses of bed and breakfasts all over. While the conventional bed and breakfasts offered travelers with economical options, they weren’t ideal for vacations. However, you can now expect to find bed and breakfasts that cater to a wide range of choices.

One of the primary differences in different bed and breakfasts is the extent of interactions between the guests and the establishment’s keepers. In traditional bed and breakfasts, you could expect to find pictures of family members within the room that you occupy, and the owners would be quite likely to indulge in conversations with their guests before calling it a night.

If this is not your idea of an ideal stay, and if you prefer staying in a place that is more intimate than a hotel room but still gives you a sense of space, you would still have options. If you like isolation, you can look for a bed and breakfast accordingly.

It is always a good idea to inspect the room before you decide to check in. Pictures in the room, and the absence of private bathrooms should indicate that the bed and breakfast runs along the traditional lines, and if it does not strike your fancy, it is best to look some place else.

Besides checking the sleeping quarters of the bed and breakfast, you might also want to ensure that the condition of the place and the quality of the food is up to par. The exteriors of a bed and breakfast should be indicative of the establishment’s overall standards.

If the gardens and/or lawns look like they haven’t been cared for, or if the general appeal of the place is sloppy, there is a good chance that their rooms would be in similar conditions.

Since not many of us would want to leave a bed and breakfast after checking in, it is best to get a feel of the place from the outside itself, as this could save you some discomfort later on.

What does one need to know while purchasing travel insurance

Travel insurance is soon becoming an indispensable provision to have while going on a business trip or traveling with the family on a vacation. This insurance provides coverage to an individual in the events of baggage loss, trip delay or cancellation, medical hassles and other kinds of travel-oriented occurrences.
Travel insurance policies are generally available in various forms. While purchasing a travel insurance policy one can add a coverage that might be useful and drop out a coverage that seems to be unnecessary.

While obtaining a travel insurance policy one needs to be aware of a few important factors in order to acquire a policy with optimum benefits at an optimum price.

Travel Insurance Policies Are Simple Base Coverage Plans

While purchasing a travel insurance policy, one needs to find out what the plan consists of. Only looking at the price of the plan is not sufficient. The policy premium will go on increasing with an increase in the coverage areas being added to that particular policy.

The Policy May Have Deductibles

A travel insurance coverage can have deductibles just as other kinds of insurance plans do. This implies that the buyer of such a policy will pay a certain premium to initiate the period of coverage but may have to pay a particular amount of money, or deductible, if he wants to collect on a specific portion of the coverage. It is wise of a buyer to look out for deductibles connected to different parts of the coverage before finally buying a certain travel insurance policy. On many occasions, deductibles linked to each part of the plan are enormously high. It is then advisable to look for a different travel insurance plan.

Reading the Fine Print is Important

One should ensure that no condition or clause goes unnoticed. Often certain restrictions apply to certain kinds of coverage. The buyer should be fully aware of every condition and clause before signing up for a policy.

Cross channel Car ferries to France

If you are deciding to go on vacations then planning is very important. The total time which ferry takes to cross France varies from 70 minutes to 8 hours. This time taken mostly depends upon the route. There are two most famous routes. First one is Dover Calais and second is Dover Dunkerque.

The traditional cross channel traveler usually arrives at the port by first horse drawn coach and then with steam train. This traveler has always been a foot passenger. Captain Townsend bought an old minesweeper because of the increasing popularity of motoring. This was done to cater a new market for those people who wanted to take their car with them while going for a ferry travel. In the early times cars were loaded by crane on Dover ferry. The number of cars that were loaded in the first year was 6000 which then rose to 31,000 in 1939. After that services were interrupted because of the Second World War. After the war was over new terminals that are called as “drive on” were built in Dover and Calais.

Ferry travel is considered to be the best option because it is easy to manage both expense and time. That is why most of the travelers like it because at the same time they can have unlimited fun and entertainment. Norfolkline ferry is well known as super fast ferry to France.

Hi there friends!

This is my first blog ever, would be posting interesting and informative posts related to travel related stuff, I wish you guys will always be there for me to support not only with your comments and feedback but with your love as well!
